my gosh this is so me and what i’ve been going through recently! i just secured my first ever pr internship for the summer after deciding to make the switch from journalism previously and after trying since december with a countless number of rejections and getting ghosted 😭 i totally resonate with your confusion and frustration so if you ever need someone to commiserate/just chat about this with im here!! <3
omg congrats on the internship queen!! i’ve applied to some pr places but maybe i should look more into it 💔 best of luck!!!! love knowing someone else gets the eldest daughter journalism experience HAHA
I'm so sorry to hear about your prospective internship! I've had some family members in the past few years since the pandemic struggle to find jobs fresh out of school even with internship experience. The market has not been kind to a lot of people. Do you know anyone who has interned at a spot you're interested in? I heard these days, you have to utilize connections to land positions because a lot of companies are hiring internally. I wish I could help you out in one of the fields you're interested in but I'm in healthcare :(
oof :/ 16, 18, 20. I can confidently say that here at 22, the view looks the same, if not a little clearer on reality. This whole fear of figuring it out in your twenties is total bullshit. you have to relinquish just enough control to be able to open your eyes to where you are now and appreciate that, while still looking towards where you want to be.
Everything will work out. Start every application with Bismillah. What's meant for you is incapable of passing you by.
the fact that you’re the eldest daughter too in an unconventional field oh my gosh…. ARE WE TWINS???
